About the Business

Established in 1954, Studio School of English was one of the most respected names in the UK English language teaching industry — a large and successful ELT business with decades of heritage in Cambridge.

The Sale

With the owner looking to retire, James Dixey Limited was engaged to find a suitable buyer. Dixey produced a comprehensive Information Memorandum that generated strong international competition for the business.

It was important to the owner to find a buyer with a genuine passion for education and an appreciation for how EFL fits into the wider picture of international understanding and cooperation. Ultimately, the business was sold to a Hong Kong-based investor who already owns multiple UK education companies, achieving an excellent multiple for the seller.

James Dixey commented:

"It is the perfect partnership between one of the most successful ELT schools in the UK and a rapidly expanding and innovative education group. I wish them all the best for an exciting future."

Danny Wang of The Full Circle Education Group, the buyer, said:

"Full Circle is a large international education group with schools in China and the UK. We have bought schools in both London and Cambridge where James Dixey was acting for the sellers. James did a brilliant job for the sellers, and we completed quickly and effectively for all parties. If I wanted to buy or sell a business in the UK or Ireland, I would immediately engage James Dixey Limited to act for me."
